I tried shopping today for something comfortable to wear on the plane. Who knew being old and fat would make shopping less fun than going to the dentist and the GYN/OB on the same day? Okay, I knew, but how many other people? Bought nothing. I may just fly to London in my pajamas. Who th' hell cares about the 2 crazy women in row 40?
Talked to Kimba - she is way too excited about being without children for 10 days. However, she has never traveled with me, so she may want her kids back on Day 2!
Got Priya's lovely and interesting wedding invitation. It's like nothing I've ever seen before. It's wonderful and the names are musical. This trip, this wedding, will be an experience.
My mom came by to see if there was anything she could do to help me. When I told her I was planning to wear clothes more than once (to lighten my load), she told me not to get carried away! As long as the deodorant is strong and no one stands very close to me (well, us, since this is Kimba's idea), it will be fine.

Nine Days to Go!
In 9 days (count 'em NINE days), Kimber and I will meet for the first time in 25 years! Chicago O'Hare Airport will never be the same. We'll board a plane to London to celebrate the wedding of my "daughter", Priya Visavadia.
Priya was a student at Kansas State University five years ago. Curtis and I "adopted" her and we have shared many wonderful times together. Three years ago, Curtis and I went to London for her graduation from university and now she is getting married! I can't wait to see her and all her family.
Kimber found me late last year (isn't the internet a wonderful thing?) and we picked up right where we left off. When she heard I was going to London, she showed some interest (okay, she begged me to let her go along) and the next thing we knew, the tickets were purchased, passports were renewed and the count down had started. by Sayra (that's my traveling name)
Highlights thus far: sending our measurements (OUR MEASUREMENTS) to Priya's wonderful sister, Kavita, who is sorting out what clothes we will wear to the wedding; Kimber having her 5 year old daughter take her photo in a dressing room while trying on a traditional Indian garmet in the Global Market in Atlanta; deciding to go to Paris for a day (and my misfiguring the cost by about a gazillion dollars; and realizing that we will each be spending 10 days with someone with whom we agree politically. What could be better?
